The present thesis is an attempt to investigate the stylistic features of The Economist Political News on The Belt and Road Initiative based on corpus and Biber's analytical framework of register. This study is based on the The Economist Political News (TEPN) corpus, which consists of the reportage related to The Belt and Road Initiative from May to August in 2016, with a running word of 834701. The other corpus COCA(Corpus of Contemporary American English) is to be employed to make a comparison to find similarities and differences of their stylistic features from the perspective of multi-features and multi-dimensions presented by Biber. Moreover, some softwares are to be used to help analyzing the data. Therefore, this thesis aims to provide a method to read and appreciate political reportage and help readers to understand this kind of reportage well.
