This paper mainly focuses on the differences between the public service advertisings(PSA) in China and America from the perspective of Hofstede’s cultural dimensions theory. Public service advertisings are designed to persuade consumers to engage in behaviors that promote healthy behaviors or good citizenship. By comparing the different cultural implication that reflects in China and America PSA, this paper will explore this issue in accordance with Hofstede’s theory from the four aspects: power distance; uncertainty avoidance; individualism versus collectivism; masculinity versus femininity.
