From the perspective of fusion of horizons , this paper aims to analyzeGary Snyder’s absorptions and creations of Han Shan’s Poems embodied in hisliterary works. Firstly, this paper categorizes the reason for his preferencesto Han Shan’s Poems, including historical background, associated with the riseof Beat Generation,social environment and his personal factors. Then, thispaper analyzes the two major processes in fusion of horizons,based on Snyder’stranslation and later works. At last it introspects plights of Chinesetraditional culture in American and communication between east and west.
