1.目的及意义

"Sea Wolf" is a novel written by famous American writerJack London. The novel is about the story about Van Weyden and the Captain of the Ghost, SeaWolf Larsen. The "SeaWolf" in the novel is not only the code name of Captain Larsen. For theauthor, it is also synonymous with the strong. The author leads the reader toenter the bold and rough wilderness through the works, experience the ruthless lifeat sea and the darkness of human nature.

To fully to understand the connotation of the famous novel by Sea Wolf and the profound thoughts of Jack London,it is a shortcut to fully explore the inner world of SeaWolf. The character represented by Larsen must be the essence of the wholenovel. After all, the whole novelis named after his nickname.

As the core figure of the whole novel, Sea Wolf Larsen was mostcarefully portrayed and described by the author. The description of him in the text is even more than the author'sdescription of the protagonist of the novel. He was born in a poor family and grew up at sea. This article seeks to analyze the psychologicalactivities of the character of the Sea Wolf Larsen through some unique angles. For example, in the monologue of theprotagonist Van Weyden: “ I am slowly learning of his loneliness. Every man onthe ship hates or fears him, and there is not a man whom he respects.” It can be seen that Larsen is a very lonely person, and he is disgustedby everyone around him. This article will analyze Larson's outlook on life andvalues through the methods introduced before. In order to achieve the goals mentioned above, this paper will also drawon the research results of scholars at home and abroad, so as to better achievethe purpose of writing. In the end, this paper will expose the truth that Larson'soutlook on life and value which full of idealism and the law of the jungle.
