Nowadays, with the development of information technology and the progress of economic globalization, China is gradually engaging into worldwide communication. Under the leadership of President Xi, China has been developing the “Belt and Road” Initiative, which is a common aspiration of all countries along their routes. The “Belt and Road” Initiative, which not only promotes mutual benefit and deepen regional cooperation, but also drives the fusion and development of multicultural perspectives, has been bringing economic benefits and cultural wealth for relevant counties and areas. To implement the initiative, intercultural exchange has been playing a vital role in making sure that China will persevere in cultural confidence and openness, and value cultural diversity, to contribute Chinese distinctive wisdom to the world. And intercultural communication is an indispensable task in building the Belt and Road.

Intercultural communication, for most students, is a way to be aware of things or people around the earth, while for a country, it means inherent cultural power to promote its development. Therefore, China has encouraged the “Belt and Road” initiative, to promote cultural exchange, collision and fusion with other different areas. Through the “Belt and Road” Initiative, China provides an interactive platform for other countries to facilitate cultural exchanges, expanding Chinese culture and fusing it with other countries, and promotes free flow and fusion of different culture elements to make them more acknowledged in the process.

This research aims to investigate some college students for the basic situation of their interchange of ideas with foreigners by using WeChat, exploring on how they feel with their chatting and finding out the existing similarities and diversities on culture such as favour, habit, religion and so on. Whether these students can make judgments to accept those different opinions from different culture has lots of relevance to a demonstration of Chinese culture. If they were to make it appropriate to give their respect to other cultures and avoid any cultural conflict, they would be best representatives to show Chinese elegance.

The research will specifically show the difference between countries on the issue of intercultural exchange. And the analysis on its findings will put particular emphasis on how Chinese students handle with communication disorders and how Chinese culture shows its charm to the world. What’s most important is that the research contributes a lot to manifest the vitality, creativity and fascination of Chinese culture.
