1.目的及意义

Research objectives:

In the process of booming development of online learning, one of the heated issues that scholars at home and abroad study is learning motivation, which is an important factor affecting learners' participation in online learning. This study will explore the current situation and the types of college students' English learning motivation under the network environment, and then put forward appropriate incentive strategies for college students' English learning motivation based on the advantages of online learning and the difficulties the students face when they learn online.

The significance of the research:

As the internal learning motivation, learning motivation plays a decisive role in college students' independent English learning, and has a direct impact on learning attitude, learning method and learning effect. Under the network environment, independent learning online has become a trend. But it also puts forward new challenges to college students' learning motivation. It is convenient and fast to obtain information from the Internet, not limited by time and space, and it is very suitable for contemporary college students to pursue the freedom of personality. So it is naturally easy to integrate into the study of college students in all aspects of life, and gradually become an indispensable way of learning for college students. Online learning has become a trend. It has some advantages that traditional learning cannot reach, but the utilization rate and effect of online learning in China is not very optimistic at present. At present, there are many problems in online learning, such as the waste of time, the insufficient use of learning resources, the easy interference, and the low learning efficiency and poor learning quality. Therefore, it is of great significance to put forward strategies for online learning motivation.

Foreign related research on online learning motivation:

A general survey of the literature and materials on the motivation of online learning in foreign countries shows that the research usually presents a trend in terms of research methods, motivation level, motivation structure and influence factors, as well as the strategies for online learning motivation. Foreign researches focus on both empirical research and theoretical analysis. The perspectives are both rich in the field of research: the research on the influence factors of online learning motivation starts from the group level (such as culture) and the individual level (such as gender and age). Rosemerie make full use of motivation scale for empirical research to study in online education of middle school students as the research object by using the motivation questionnaire of three dimensions including interest, importance and usefulness and twelve projects. In 2004,]Dianna’s Engagement with Mathematics Courseware in Traditional and Online Learning Environments:Relationship O Motivation, Achievement,Gender,and Gender Orientation. Other scholars also proposed to integrate "ARCS" motivational strategies into online learning environment, and specifically apply "ARCS" motivational strategies according to learners' different motivational levels (low, medium and high). Shrififar and Akbarzadeh (2011) conducted a questionnaire survey on the factors leading to the decline of English learning motivation of 53 college students in Iran, and found that the teacher factor, the student factor and the classroom environment are three major factors, among which the classroom environment is the biggest reason leading to the decline of student motivation

Domestic related research on online learning motivation:

Most of the research on learning motivation in China is to analyze students' learning motivation by combining a certain subject, and the factors that affect students' learning motivation in online learning are also complicated. Based on ARCS motivation model of four elements: Attention, Relevance, Confidence and Satisfaction, taking some college students of universities in Jilin province, JiChangQuan found there was certain relevance between four elements of the current college students including their learning motivation level, learning motivation, emotion, learning motivation, persistence, and effect of network learning environment and the ARCS motivation model. Wei yun studied and analyzed the influence of network culture on learning motivation, and proposed to enhance learning motivation by means of network teaching objectives, project teaching, case study, role playing and other methods. Han minxia analyzed the influence of the network environment on students' learning motivation by means of literature review, experiment and questionnaire survey, and put forward the strategies to stimulate and maintain students' learning motivation under the network environment.
