Economicterms are carriers of economic theory and concept and the essential knowledgeof economics. Among these terms, some are profound while others are plain.Especially for these plain terms, they have general meanings besides themeaning in economics. This paper will study the connection and differencebetween the general meaning and professional meaning in economics of thesewords contrastively based on two economic term dictionaries. Try to analyze thereason why to choose these words to express certain economic meanings from theperspective of the origin of these words.
