1. 研究目的与意义(文献综述)

as many researchers have studied, translation is an activity with a very long history conducted in many subject fields. it requires both professional and translation-related knowledge. lots of standards and methods about translation were proposed to develop the translation theories. due to the variegated observation of translation activities, there is never a unified way to translate a source language discourse. among the factors that result in different translation versions, researchers often ignore translator’s subjectivity because it seems to be an invisible one.

from the philosophical point of view, subjectivity refers to the definitive property of man as subject, rather than the subject as a person. the basic of subjectivity is human's practical ability and creativity. in short, it is subjective initiative. and the translator’s subjectivity refers to the subjective initiative of the translator which appears during the process of translation for a specific purpose. the translator’s subjectivity manifests in way of the initiative, mobility and creativity which are co-effected by subjective and objective factors. it highlights the status and function of the translator, but it is different from the irresponsible or abusive rewriting of the original text. it regards translation as interlocution and puts the translator on an equal place with the writer and the reader.

in ancient china, people know little about the western world and translation between chinese and english seems to be not so popular in public. however, as the missionaries coming from foreign countries brought the western culture intochina, there were also increasing chinese classical literatures translated into foreign language by different philologists and linguists. among these literatures, chinese classical poetry is quite difficult to translate because of its linguistic rhythm and artistic beauty. different people may have different comprehensions, which will lead to different translation versions.
