1. 研究目的与意义(文献综述包含参考文献)

Literature Review The criterion of ”Faithfulness, Smoothness, Elegance” have a great influence on the translation field in modern China. In the translation of sports terminology, like football terminology, more and more translator have their own opinions. The translation of terminology occupies a very important position in the translation of the whole article, many people also have their own ideas. In The Meaning of Terms (2007), Wu Likun makes a point of view, the author thinks that the meaning of a term, whose core is to denote the concept defined by a definition, is an extremely complex semantic formation. Since concepts change continually along with people#8217;s knowledge of the dynamic change of things and phenomenon, we have to update the definitions according to the development of concepts frequently to keep the meaning of terms accurate. Jiang Wangqi (2005) appealed to all his counterparts in the passage On the Standard of Terminology Translation to pay more attention to terminology. He emphasized not only the accuracy but also the readability and transparency of translated terms. He believes one term can be translated into many different meanings. People should respect the language rules and ”established by usage”. In addition, although terms are special, translators should follow the common theory. Yang Lijun put forward an idea in The Faithfulness and Strategies of Translation (2009) that the faithful translation is always important. Literal translation and comprehensive translation should be used flexibly to keep faith and smooth. In The ”Chineseness#8217; vs ”Non-Chineseness#8217; of Chinese Translation Theory (2009), Tan Zaixi proposes that since the early 1980s, when China began to witness an influx of foreign, mainly Western, translation theories as a result of its opening up to the outside world, a number of Chinese scholars have argued that the importation of these theories has been excessive, that the Chinese have always had their own tradition of studying translation, and that this tradition must be preserved and protected from too much outside influence. He accepts that a Chinese tradition of theorizing translation does exist and attempts to outline the main features of this tradition. He argues, however, that the ”Chineseness#8217; of Chinese translation theory is not something to be deliberately designed and manufactured, that Chinese scholarship, like all scholarship, can only benefit from interacting. From other point of view, there are also similarities between terminology and idioms. When a translator try to translate some terminology, he needs to learn the strategies of idiom translation. In Chinese Translation of English Human Body Idioms Based on the Functional Equivalence Theory (2013), Fang Jinming proposes that the importance of the strategy. He thinks that there have existed a large number of idioms related to human organs in both English and Chinese, which are set phrases or sentences abstracted from language. They form an essential part of the whole vocabulary of language and have been used for a long time, which reflect the national colors of the native speakers and are said to be considered as the sinew of the language possessing various cultural characteristics. It is because those idioms bear certain features of ethnic cultures that the human body idioms translation becomes a real problem for translators. So it#8217;s necessary for translators to do their utmost to pursuit the most proper way of translation. Only under proper translation strategies can the human body idioms be translated with the national features and convey the meaning of. In Analysis the translation of sports terminology from the acceptability of the translation (2014), Shi Xuanzhi laid stress on sports professional terms and regard them as a necessity for studying international sports rules, searching for professional sports literature, doing sports report, and organizing international matches. The features for these terms are monosemy, conciseness, ordinary words for special meaning, specialization and systematisms. Translators should take term and its meaning into account and think more about how to make the target language passage smooth despite the different structures between original language and target language. A variety of translation methods like Transliteration, direct translation, annotation, altered translation, comprehension translation and zero translation can help translate the sports term accurately and completely. In Practice Report of Chinese-English Consecutive Interpreting of Football (2014), Li Bingxin, says that” Total football as a football program, we have to consider not only its professional character but also its recreation” and” Because of the differences of English and Chinese, we have to make adjustment of Chinese and English. When we interpret from Chinese into English, it#8217;s difficult to make adjustment in a short time. We have to accumulate theories and methods of interpreting in advance. We use recessive cohesion mechanism and domesticating method for this simulating consecutive interpreting. We use theory to guide the practice to make it more convenient.” Generally speaking, a book which is biography of a football celebrity has distinct features of biographical texts as well as sport texts, and these features should be presented in the translation. In Expressions in the Translation of Biography of Sport Celebrity -- A Report on the Translating of Sir Alex Ferguson#8211;The Official Manchester United Story of 25 Years at The Top (excerpts)(2014), Jiang Yingying states that the translator usually encounter two main problems. One is how to reproduce the biographical language idiomatically in the translation, and the other one is how to deal with the lexical features of the source text. To solve these problems, the translator must make sure that the translation should be equivalent to the source text, both its meaning and its style. When the translator try to translate sentences or paragraphs, literal translation is predominant, while free translation is used in formidable cases in order to make the target text readable and understandable.
