methods and procedures of the study

in order to figure out what the kite runner tells about, i did the following steps. first of all, i read the chinese version of this novel. in this way, i can get familiar with the content of the novel. usually, a document research is the process of reading, analyzing, evaluating, and summarizing scholarly materials about a specific work. so i used traditional libraries and e-libraries to find a lot of documents which can let me understand the novel well. thirdly, the more important modernized tool is internet where we can find abundant information about this novel. the academic database and online materials are used as the references of the study. through this way, i can master the integration over the kite runner or make analysis on it. the last but not the least, my supervisor gave me a lot of suggestion.

the thesis consists of six parts. the first part will primarily provide the background information, including a general introduction of khaled hosseini, the novel the kite runner and the focus and the purpose of writing the thesis. the second part is the literature review. part three is a psychoanalytical reading of this novel. in this part, the thesis will introduce amir#8217;s moral degradation by using carl gustav jung#8217;s archetypal theory. part four analyzes amir#8217;s growth. subsequently, a detailed analysis of reasons for his growth. the fifth part will analyze amir#8217;s self-redemption. at last, the thesis will draw a conclusion.
