Literature review From the 19th century till now, many people have studied the situational teaching method in English classroom teaching.#160;They all agree that this teaching method is wonderful and useful in bringing students' enthusiasm into English study.#160;And they don't deny that it has some problems. Zhang Guanghua is a lecturer of Xi'an Railway Vocational and Technical Institute.#160;In his essay Situation Teaching Method and Higher Vocational English Teaching (2011), he expresses his view point about how should teachers use the situational teaching method in English classroom teaching.#160;He thinks that teachers must speak English in classes.#160;Using the internet and varied training aids is necessary.#160;Some English presentations or songs will also improve students' learning interest.#160;I think he is right.#160;Students like active and vivid circumstances rather than rigid ones.#160;If teachers could use situational teaching method, students will become the main characters in English learning. Sun Lianying is a teacher in Daqing Construction Secondary Technical School.#160;In his work Analysis on Situational Teaching Practice in Senior High Schools English Teaching (2010), he raises some issues which should be paid more attention to in the situational English teaching.#160;When setting the "situations", teachers should think about the students' practical knowledge level and the specific language environment.#160;He also thinks the situations should fit in with the textbook.#160;In my opinion, it's not necessary to make the situations the same as the textbook.#160;Without the limitation of textbook, students can learn more information freely. Xia Wang is a student in Hunan Normal University.#160;In his thesis The Research of the Situational Approach in Primary English Teaching (2010), he summarizes some problems of the situational teaching method in English classroom teaching.#160;One is that teachers always think this method expends too much time and they won't use it for long time.#160;The other is that the forms which teachers favor are not the same as the students'.#160;I think teachers should cater to the needs of students as far as possible.#160;Then, students will be interested in learning English. Learning a language must have a good language environment. Our mother tongue is not English, under the atmosphere of Chinese language to learn English. There is no English environment and teachers should deliberately create the English environment. Because the ultimate goal of English teaching is to cultivate students' ability to communicate in English. While this ability only through a lot of exposure to English, it makes students immerse in English communication atmosphere and forms quickly. Excellent English classroom can't measure by how much effective information teachers teach students, but also need to pay attention to the students#8217; ability to use information. Simple direct classroom teaching is boring and easy to make students feel depressed, produce mental fatigue and hinder students' internalization of language information. Therefore, the teacher needs to use situational teaching method to create a relaxed and lively English teaching situation, present the teaching contents in the situation, guide the student to the natural realization of English in the situation awareness, understanding, internalization, utilization, and can according to their aptitude develop students' learning potential, make its successful experience. To maximize practice English in the limited class time, you must highlight the characteristics of English in English class and eliminate mother tongue interference of Chinese language, set up a concept of English only with teachers and students in English class, not or less saying Chinese and take the English class as a place for communication in English. The English teaching process is regarded as the English teaching and learning activities, from the teachers organizing teaching activities to the students#8217; participation, the tool is English rather than Chinese.

2. 研究的基本内容、问题解决措施及方案

Methodology By studying this, the research is aimed to solve the following questions: 1.What's the situational teaching method? 2.What should teachers do in English classroom teaching? 3.What are the differences between the situational teaching method and the traditional one? 4.Why can't the situational teaching method be the only method in English teaching? Along with the development of China#8217;s economy, English becomes more and more important in people#8217;s daily life.#160;The English teaching method which is used in each stage receives a lot of attention.#160;After Chinese educational system reform, the Situational Teaching Method comes into being.#160;Till now it has got great achievements in the English teaching of junior high school.#160;As for English teaching of the junior high school, it pays to focus attention on the Situational Teaching Method.#160;The scenes originate from social practice.#160;It is a product of people#8217;s daily lives.#160;It emphasizes the integration of the dynamic process and the life situation, pays great attention to students#8217; understanding of life, pays great attention to students#8217; ability development in the active process, and stimulates their interest from various aspects.#160;It helps students to understand the teaching materials and develop students#8217; psychological functions through the scenes which can produce vivid images.#160;The core of the Situational Teaching Method is to stimulate students#8217; emotion. The situational teaching method has caused attention from the late 19th century.#160;Now, in classroom teaching, especially in English classroom teaching, it is used more than before.#160;People have realized that only by this way can our students learn on their own initiative.#160;In fact, the situational teaching method is an advanced teaching method with some limitations.#160;My work aims to study it objectively.#160;Though more and more teachers realize the importance of this teaching method, it's still difficult to carry out in every English class.#160;If we can solve the problem and make it fit in with our English teaching, students will surely love learning English and the study efficiency will surely be promoted. Every new teaching method should be practiced in real classes.#160;The situational teaching method in English classroom teaching is the same.#160;Students are the main characters in classroom and teachers are just the leading factors.#160;Through studying on the situational teaching method, we can know that what should teachers do and what should the students do in English teaching and learning.
